Michael Myers attacks in new clips from Halloween

Michael Myers is back, and judging by the positive reaction which greeted HALLOWEEN at the Toronto International Film Festival, the soon-to-be-released film will leave many horror fans quite happy. It's been forty years since the events of John Carpenter's original film, and Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) has spent them preparing for the inevitable return of Michael Myers. A new clip from the film finds Laurie Strode barricading the door as Michael Myers advances, but those decades of preparation doesn't mean that Laurie is ready for all of Michael's tricks.

Two other clips have also been released, the first of which finds Laurie Strode speaking with her granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak), who encourages her grandmother to "get over" her obsession with Michael Myers. Something tells me that she'll soon be more than grateful when Myers comes calling once again. The second clip focuses on Laurie being questioned by pair of true crime podcasters, played by Rhian Rees and Jefferson Hall, about Michael Myers. You can check out both clips below.

Although I'm pumped for HALLOWEEN, I'm sure that there will be some who aren't into it, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the film will be able to match the original. It also helps that David Gordon Green isn't about to explain too much about Michael Myers. "He’s the essence of evil, so we don’t want to get too much into the specifics of what makes him tick," Green has said. "So much of what makes the boogeyman horrifying to me is the mystery and almost cat-like mannerisms and curiosity of this character."

The official synopsis for HALLOWEEN:

Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.

HALLOWEEN will hit theaters on October 19th.
