In three days the new HALLOWEEN movie will finally be upon us, and we’ll get to watch Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) take on The Shape/Michael Myers after he tried to kill her 40 years ago. If you just can’t wait one more minute than we have for you a new clip from the movie that finds the masked killer stalking his prey like a hunter, bringing forth the hammer before taking up the knife. It’s as nail-biting as it sounds, and this is merely a taste of what the movie has in store for us.

The clip is the complete footage that started the second trailer for the movie, wherein Michael returns to Haddonfield to finish some business on Halloween night, and kicks off his evening of murder and terror. Done in two long takes and featuring the new John Carpenter score, the clip paints a full picture of what director David Gordon Green had in mind when he decided to favor tension over gore.
So far critics have been very kind to the movie, and it currently stands at an 86% on Rotten Tomatoes, and though that could fluctuate downwards, it’s become clear already this is a worthy successor to the 1978 original. Our own Chris Bumbray hailed the movie last month at TIFF, saying it’s a “lean, mean, old-school slasher that will delight longtime fans and win new ones."
