Taraji P. Henson discovers What Men Want in red-band trailer

Nearly twenty years ago, Nick Marshall (Mel Gibson) gained the ability to hear what women are really thinking after a fluke accident in Nancy Meyers' WHAT WOMEN WANT. Nick used his new-found ability to his advantage at first when a woman (Helen Hunt) received a promotion over him, but as always happens, quickly fell in love with her instead. Taraji P. Henson (HIDDEN FIGURES) takes the lead in a new spin on the original film, which finds her starring as a sports agent who is constantly boxed out by her male colleagues. Upon gaining the power to hear the thoughts of the men around her, she's able to shift the paradigm to her advantage as she races to sign the next NBA superstar.

Paramount Pictures have released a new NSFW red-band trailer for WHAT MEN WANT which brings plenty of salty language and over the top screaming along for the ride, and I'll admit that it did prompt a chuckle or two. Welcome to Wakanda.

The official synopsis for WHAT MEN WANT:

Ali Davis (Taraji P. Henson) is a successful sports agent who’s constantly boxed out by her male colleagues. When Ali is passed up for a well-deserved promotion, she questions what else she needs to do to succeed in a man’s world… until she gains the ability to hear men’s thoughts! With her newfound power, Ali looks to outsmart her colleagues as she races to sign the next basketball superstar, but the lengths she has to go to will put her relationship with her best friends and a potential new love interest (Aldis Hodge) to the test.

WHAT MEN WANT will hit theaters on February 8, 2019.
