The eighth and final season of HBO's Game of Thrones will premiere in just a few months, setting us on the path for what's sure to be an epic conclusion to the battle for Westeros. Some will live, others will die, and all the spoilers which the cast and crew have been desperately keeping to themselves will be revealed.
However, when it comes to loved ones, sometimes you just can't help yourself from spilling the beans. Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow on the series, married Rose Leslie, who played Ygritte until the fourth season, last June. As the character of Jon Snow has continued onwards and will factor into the final season in a major way, Kit Harington is obviously aware of how it all comes to an end. While speaking on KISS FM's UK radio-show (via Entertainment Weekly), Harington confessed that he'd told his wife how Game of Thrones would end, at her request. It didn't go over very well.
I told my wife last year how it ended, and she wouldn’t talk to me for about three days. And she’d asked!
Well, she did ask, but I can't help but wonder what it was exactly that upset her so. When the scripts first arrived for the final season, Kit Harington refused to read them until the table read. He really did know nothing. Now that filming has concluded, Harington won't say whether or not he's happy with how the show comes to an end. "I don’t think it’s about happy or sad, really. I’m satisfied with what they did, but I don’t know whether I’ll be really satisfied until I see it," Harington said, but added that he's quite pleased to hold all of the show's secrets, if only for a few more months. "It’s quite nice walking around, which will only happen for a few months before everyone’s seen it, knowing. I know and no one else does. I know how it wraps up. I think it’s gonna be groundbreaking." The eighth and final season of Game of Thrones will hit HBO on April 14, 2019.
