John Krasinski to helm A Quiet Place sequel, Emily Blunt will also return

Well now, here’s an announcement that’s going to be difficult to keep quiet. According to sources, A QUIET PLACE director and co-writer John Krasinski will return to the dramatic horror-mystery property to direct its sequel. Before word broke about Krasinski preparing to get behind the camera, it was suspected that the JACK RYAN actor would only write the follow-up to his 2018 box office smash.

Another exciting addition to today's A QUIET PLACE-related news is that Emily Blunt will reprise her role as Evelyn Abbott for the sequel. In the original, Evelyn played a “take precaution but take no shit” mother who was willing to go above and beyond the call of duty to protect her family.

Alongside Krasinski’s appointment as director, THE OFFICE alum announced via Instagram that the sequel will make some noise in theaters come May 15, 2020.

Costing only $17 million to produce, A QUIET PLACE went on to become a box office blowout with $340 million earned worldwide. For those of you who’ve yet to see the original film, Krasinski’s bone-chilling thrill ride takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, and follows a family who is forced to live in silence while hiding from monsters with ultra-sensitive hearing. The film features a minimal amount of dialogue, an element that adds tremendously to the film’s tension and terror factor. Rather than spoil the end of the original film here, I advise you all to give it a watch and get caught up before movie news outlets start shouting more details related to the sequel.
