Update #2: Apple has released a new sizzle reel-style trailer highlighting several of the new shows coming to their Apple TV+ platform.
Update: Oprah Winfrey, who last June entered into a multi-year deal with Apple, revealed today that she has several documentaries in the works that are bound for Apple's new streaming service. One of the projects, currently titled TOXIC LABOR, will shine a spotlight on sexual harassment and assault in the workplace. The other, which currently stands as an untitled multi-part series will explore "mental health and how the scourge of depression and anxiety, post-traumatic stress, addiction, trauma and loss is just devastating lives daily across the globe.” Winfrey, who in her time has become an entertainment mogul unlike any other, also cited plans to bring a revamped version of her Book Club to Apple.
“For me there is nothing more thrilling than being transported by a brilliant book. The only other thing more gratifying than an extraordinary read is being able share that experience with others, and we’re going to do just that by building the biggest, the most vibrant, the most stimulating Book Club on the planet!,” Winfrey alerted the already amped-up crowd.
She then added, “Imagine where Apple stores stream a conversation with the author and me, live across all devices, across all borders, uniting people to stories that remind us that no matter who you are, or where you are from, every man, woman and child looks up in awe at the same stuff.”

Apple is hosting a big event today, which includes the official unveiling of the company's hotly-anticipated streaming TV service, Apple TV+.
“TV is more than just entertainment, it’s cultural,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook during a presentation at the company’s headquarters in Cupertino, California. “TV at its best enriches our lives and we can share it with people we love,” Cook then added.
After addressing the room while sporting a knowing smile (probably while thinking of all the money this new initiative stands to net him), Cook handed the mic over to original-video heads Jamie Erlicht and Zack Van Amburg. After greeting their audience, Erlicht and Amburg introduced a video promoting a host of new shows bound for Apple TV+, including offerings from the likes of Steven Spielberg, J.J. Abrams, Sofia Coppola, M. Night Shyamalan, Ron Howard, Octavia Butler, Damien Chazelle, Jennifer Aniston, and Hailee Steinfeld.
Shortly thereafter, Spielberg took center stage to announce that his revival of the AMAZING STORIES anthology is coming back to Apple. After the announcement was met with cheers from those in attendance, Apple then confirmed that Reese Witherspoon Jennifer Aniston's anticipated talk show drama is also bound for the service as well. Joining Witherspoon and Aniston on Apple's streamer will also be a half-hour series starring Hailee Steinfeld as Emily Dickinson. Additionally, the service will get two dramas titled LITTLE VOICES and MY GLORY WAS I HAD SUCH FRIENDS, the latter of which will star Jennifer Garner. As previously reported, J.J. Abrams will executive produce. Making our way down the line, we find Octavia Spencer readying a role for ARE YOU SLEEPING, which is an adaptation of the novel Defending Jacob by author William Landay. In the novel, Landay tells the tale of a family in crisis – for a suspenseful, character-driven mystery that is also a spellbinding story of guilt, betrayal, and the terrifying speed at which our lives can spin out of control. Oh, did you think we were done? Pffft, you wish.
Apple is also preparing to launch a yet-to-be-titled CIA drama with CAPTAIN MARVEL's Brie Larson in the starring role. The Larson-led project is said to be pulling from the real-life experiences of CIA undercover operative Amaryllis Fox and her upcoming memoir Undercover: Coming of Age in the CIA. Described as a provocative and contemporary look at a young woman’s journey in the CIA, Fox's story is told through the prism of her closest relationships.
Another project on the docket is a post-apocalyptic drama lead by AQUAMAN's Jason Momoa and DAREDEVIL's Alfre Woodard. From Steven DeKnight, the show will be set in a wasteland where only a few million have survived, though all who did are now blind.
Finally, we have a comedy project that hails from IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA executive producers Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day. The project is said to be a hilarious look inside the goings on of a video game development studio. Think GRANDMA'S BOY only way better, presumably.
More announcements are bound to come rolling in as Apple continues to reveal their latest plans for world domination … I mean plans to bring their customers quality entertainment. Yeah, that's the ticket. Be sure to check back with us each new and exciting project comes to light.
