New trailer for The Angry Birds Movie 2 finds the birds and pigs teaming up

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

If we're to learn anything from the absurdly popular Angry Birds video-game series, it's that birds and pigs are natural enemies, so watching the two warring nations unite in the new trailer for THE ANGRY BIRDS MOVIE 2 is alarming and wrong. I don't like it. Although the conflict between avian and swine is alive and well in the opening moments of the trailer, they're forced to put their issues aside when a third island is discovered whose inhabitants, led by the mysterious Zeta, seek to destroy both Bird and Pig Island.

THE ANGRY BIRDS MOVIE 2 features the return of Jason Sudeikis as Red, Josh Gad as Chuck, Danny McBride as Bomb, Bill Hader as Leonard/King Mudbeard, and Peter Dinklage as Mighty Eagle, in addition to Leslie Jones, Rachel Bloom, Awkwafina, Sterling K. Brown, Zach Woods, and Pete Davidson lending their voices as well.

The official synopsis for THE ANGRY BIRDS MOVIE 2:

The flightless angry birds and the scheming green piggies take their beef to the next level in The Angry Birds Movie 2! When a new threat emerges that puts both Bird and Pig Island in danger, Red (Jason Sudeikis), Chuck (Josh Gad), Bomb (Danny McBride), and Mighty Eagle (Peter Dinklage) recruit Chuck’s sister Silver (Rachel Bloom) and team up with pigs Leonard (Bill Hader), his assistant Courtney (Awkwafina), and techpig Garry (Sterling K. Brown) to forge an unsteady truce and form an unlikely superteam to save their homes.

THE ANGRY BIRDS MOVIE 2 will hit theaters on August 16, 2019.
