The Lost Symbol: Peacock’s Da Vinci Code prequel gets its first trailer

Peacock has uncovered an official trailer for its original drama series Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol. Based on Dan Brown’s international bestselling thriller “The Lost Symbol,” the series follows the early adventures of young Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon, who must solve a series of deadly puzzles to save his kidnapped mentor and thwart a chilling global conspiracy. Oh, Mr. Langdon, you're always at the center of some age-old mystery, and we love to follow you down the rabbit hole.

Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol was originally titled Langdon while in production at NBC. However, earlier this year, the series moved over to Peacock under a full series order. The series stars Ashley Zukerman as a young Robert Langdon, an Indiana Jones-like character, but without a bullwhip or stylish fedora. Tom Hanks played Langdon in all three of Ron Howard's films based on Brown's best-selling work. Joining Zukerman for the series are Valorie Curry, Sumalee Montano, Rick Gonzalez, Eddie Izzard, and Beau Knapp.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be working with Ron and Brian again on another Langdon project,” said Dan Brown in a statement. “We’ve all wanted to make The Lost Symbol for some time now, and I’m grateful to CBS Studios, Imagine Television Studios, Universal Television, and Peacock for joining forces to make this project a reality. Dan Dworkin and Jay Beattie have written a phenomenally captivating script, and the casting and performances are pitch-perfect.”

In the trailer, we find Langdon solving a series of riddles that somehow bring him closer to deciphering an intricate mystery. The adventure looks to take Langdon and his compatriots beyond the lecture halls and into the dank of hidden pathways to unearth forgotten histories.

Peacock has yet to announce a premiere date for the series but has said that it's "coming soon." Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for clues as to when this intriguing prequel adventure will begin.
