Game of Thrones Comic-Con panel with live updates!

Game of Thrones, Comic-Con, SDCC

Unless you've been living under a rock for several months, you're likely aware that the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones came under a great deal of criticism, with fans taking particular issue with what they perceived to be rushed pacing and unsatisfying character arcs. Despite the disappointment surrounding the season, it certainly hasn't stopped the awards from flowing as Game of Thrones recently set a new record for the most Emmy nominations received in the same year by any show with 32 nominations. That's crazy. The show snagged nominations for Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series, three nominations for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series, as well as ten acting nominations for Emilia Clarke, Kit Harington, Alfie Allen, Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Gwendoline Christie, Lena Headey, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, and Carice van Houten.

There's still a lot of love for the series as a whole, and the Game of Thrones panel and Q&A at San Diego Comic-Con gave fans the chance to pose some questions to select members of the Game of Thrones family, including Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm), John Bradley (Samwell Tarly), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jamie Lannister), Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth), Conleth Hill (Varys), Maisie Williams (Arya Stark), and Isaac Hempstead (Bran Stark). Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss were slated to take the stage as well, but rather than potentially being confronted by thousands of upset fans, the pair pulled out two days ago citing "production and scheduling conflicts." I'll update with tweets from the panel as they come in.
