Michelle Williams says “I’m in” for joining Andy Serkis’ Venom sequel

Now that it's been confirmed that Andy Serkis will serve as the director of Sony's VENOM sequel starring Tom Hardy, it's time to web-up the old band and get things rocking again. Recently while engaging in an interview with Yahoo! Entertainment, VENOM actress Michelle Williams expressed her enthusiasm for reprising her role as Anne Weying, Eddie Brock's calculating ex, for the sequel.

Previously, Williams cast doubt on her return to the Spider-Man multiverse while speaking with MTV News. "They have to pay me either way," she joked. However, since that time, it would seem as if Williams has summoned new energy for the follow-up, especially now that Serkis is involved.

“I’m such a fan of Andy’s, and I’m so inspired by what he’s been able to accomplish,” Williams beamed while speaking with Yahoo! “He’s so gifted in such a specific way, and I’m very excited to learn from him and be around him.”

Additionally, Williams is now giving off some buzzy vibes with regard to what her return to the franchise could mean for her character. You see, in addition to helping Eddie find his moral compass in the original film, Williams' Anne Weying also suited up as She-Venom for a brief time. With another chapter of the symbiote saga confirmed, there's a high probability that we'll see Williams sporting the amorphous alien suit once again. Perhaps the sequel will even involve Brock realzing that his symbiote can divide itself, possessing another, and granting them its unique abilities and then some.

“I hope I get equal time that way — I can say that,” Williams exclaimed to Yahoo! about getting her chance to play She-Venom, one again. "I'm in."

For the moment, Hardy is the only cast member who's been officially confirmed for the VENOM sequel. Of course, the question on everyone's mind now pertains to whether or not Woody Harrelson will make his debut as Carnage in the new film. After all, his character, Cletus Kasady, was teased during the post-credits scene in the 2018 film. I know for a fact that many Venom fans are climbing the walls for Carnage to enter the fray, and I have no doubt that Serkis is aware of the pressure to bring the villain aboard. My fingers are officially crossed, as Carnage has proven himself to be the perfect adversary for both Spider-Man and Venom alike, time and again.
