Day two of New York Comic-Con is officially underway, and DC Universe is kicking their Friday showcase off by announcing the official premiere date for HARLEY QUINN, the upcoming animated series starring Kaley Cuoco as the Qweenpin of Crime. The series is scheduled to to arrive on November 29, just a few months before Daddy's Little Monster returns to theaters for director Cathy Yan's BIRDS OF PREY (AND THE FANTABULOUS EMANCIPATION OF ONE HARLEY QUINN).
The animated arrival of Harley Quinn isn't the only project that DC teased this morning. It's also been announced that the studio is developing an anthology series titled BIZARROTV. According to DC, the show will be presented using both live-action and animated formats. The project aims to feature characters that hail from some of the more bizzare and lesser-known corners of DC's Multiverse, including Space Cabbie, Ambush Bug, Slam Bradley and the Creeper. Producing the new animated project is Warner Bros. Television Group’s digital production unit Blue Ribbon Content, with plans to unleash the series sometime next year.
Joining Cuoco for HARLEY QUINN are Lake Bell (BOJACK HORSEMAN) as Pamela Isley/Poison Ivy, Sanna Lathan (BLADE) as Catwoman, Alan Tudyk (FIREFLY) as Joker, James Wolk (MAD MEN) as Superman, Rahul Kohli (I, ZOMBIE) as Scarecrow, Vanessa Marshall (ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY) as Princess Diana/Wonder Woman, as well as Jason Alexander (SEINFELD), Diedrich Bader (OFFICE SPACE), Ron Funches (GET HARD), Tony Hale (VEEP), Christopher Meloni (MAN OF STEEL), Natalie Morales (BATTLE OF THE SEXES), Jim Rash (COMMUNITY), J.B. SMOOVE (SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME), and Wanda Sykes (MONSTER IN LAW), among others.
Here's the official plot synopsis for HARLEY QUINN:
The adult animated comedy series follows Harley’s adventures, where alongside a ragtag crew of DC castoffs, she tries to earn a seat at the biggest table in villainy: the Legion of the Doom.
Cuoco is executive producing via her Yes, Norman Productions banner alongside Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker and Dean Lorey. HARLEY QUINN will make its animated debut on November 29 via DC Universe.
