The Angels daydrink and save the world in new Charlie’s Angels trailer

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

In a few weeks, audiences will get to see the return of CHARLIE’S ANGELS from director Elizabeth Banks with Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska as the world-saving angels. There will plenty of style and ass-kicking to go around, and in the new trailer, we get to see much more of both as the Angel’s gear up, lock & load, save the day and maybe have a few drinks to celebrate. Or are they doing it before the mission? If it’s the latter, I’m impressed.

One of the larger takeaways from the new trailer is the abundance of Patrick Stewart as one of the several new Bosley’s – namely Stan Bosley – with Banks playing Susan Bosley and Djimon Hounsou as Sam Bosley. Otherwise, it’s a lot more of a showcase for the stars, the action, fashion, and the angle of Scott’s Elena learning to become an Angel and earn her wings. All that together makes for a rather fun-looking movie, with Banks injecting a modern sense of humor and perspective to the series.

Sony also seems to be pushing the new music rather hard, with that glimpse of Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus and Lana Del Rey from their music for the song "Don't Call Me Angel." It seems strange to throw them into the official trailer if they aren't in the actual movie, but hey, gotta move those singles.

Here's the synopsis:

In Banks’ bold vision, Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska are working for the mysterious Charles Townsend, whose security and investigative agency has expanded internationally. With the world’s smartest, bravest, and most highly trained women all over the globe, there are now teams of Angels guided by multiple Bosleys taking on the toughest jobs everywhere.

CHARLIE'S ANGELS is in theaters November 1.
