Sam Rockwell & Rebel Wilson are a couple of wacky Nazis in Jojo Rabbit clip

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

It’s not every day you look at a room filled with Nazis and propaganda material with a big smile on your face, but that will be very much the case when audiences watch Taika Waititi’s satire, JOJO RABBIT. That’s likely because the Nazis in his new movie are total buffoons and get kneed in the testicles by Scarlett Johansson, as evidenced by the new clip 20th Century Fox dropped, which finds the actress giving Sam Rockwell’s character a piece of her mind…and her knee…aimed at his crotch.

Showcasing more of the bizarre humor than one of the more recent clips the studio dropped, this one finds Johansson’s Rosie Betzler tracking down Rockwell’s Captain Klenzendorf to express just how mad she is that, through his carelessness, her son had been hurt by a hand grenade, with new scars to prove it. As compensation, the captain must give young Jojo (Roman Griffin Davis) a job, to which Rebel Wilson’s Fräulein Rahm offers a variety of options, such as taking the haunting, Aryan clones out for a walk. Another hilarious bit from Waititi, the clones are not acknowledged again, and Wilson then moves on to “delivering these conscriptions.”

Anyone who regularly pays attention to the world of movies has heard about JOJO RABBIT, as it has become a top Oscar contender after earning rave reviews and TIFF's People's Choice Award. The movie officially hits theaters next week, so soon audiences will be able to see what all this hubbub is about if they wish, and this is one of the better advertisements for the movie: If you're a fan of mothers standing up for their sons and find terrifying, young Nazi clones entertaining, then this is the movie for you.

Here's the synopsis:

Writer director Taika Waititi (THOR: RAGNAROK, HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE), brings his signature style of humor and pathos to his latest film, JOJO RABBIT, a World War II satire that follows a lonely German boy (Roman Griffin Davis as JoJo) whose world view is turned upside down when he discovers his single mother (Scarlett Johansson) is hiding a young Jewish girl (Thomasin McKenzie) in their attic. Aided only by his idiotic imaginary friend, Adolf Hitler (Taika Waititi), Jojo must confront his blind nationalism.

JOJO RABBIT is in theaters October 18.
