Blood is shed & F-bombs dropped in Terminator: Dark Fate red-band trailer

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

When TERMINATOR: DARK FATE was first announced, James Cameron promised that the film would return to the franchise's R-rated roots, and now it's official. The MPAA has awarded the film an R-rating for "violence throughout, language, and brief nudity." Sounds about right. Paramount Pictures has also dropped a new extended red-band trailer for the film which gives us blood, F-bombs (Linda Hamilton has a great one in this trailer), and plenty of machine-on-machine action. There's a lot of great little beats in this trailer, including Rev-9 (Gabriel Luna) absorbing a sledgehammer to the head and seamlessly merging his two halves together while charging at Arnold Schwarzenegger. I know there's been a lot of trepidation surrounding this film, particularly after the last few installments of the franchise haven't exactly knocked it out of the park, but I've got my fingers crossed for TERMINATOR: DARK FATE; After all, we've got Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, and James Cameron back in the fold. I'm ready to love again.

The official synopsis for TERMINATOR: DARK FATE:

More than two decades have passed since Sarah Connor prevented Judgment Day, changed the future, and re-wrote the fate of the human race. Dani Ramos (Natalia Reyes) is living a simple life in Mexico City with her brother (Diego Boneta) and father when a highly advanced and deadly new Terminator – a Rev-9 (Gabriel Luna) – travels back through time to hunt and kill her. Dani's survival depends on her joining forces with two warriors: Grace (Mackenzie Davis), an enhanced super-soldier from the future, and a battle-hardened Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton). As the Rev-9 ruthlessly destroys everything and everyone in its path on the hunt for Dani, the three are led to a T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger) from Sarah’s past that may be their last best hope.

TERMINATOR: DARK FATE will hit theaters on November 1, 2019.
