Rami Malek will really get under James Bond’s skin in No Time to Die

Production officially wrapped on NO TIME TO DIE just several days ago, bringing Daniel Craig's stint as James Bond to an end after nearly fourteen years and five films. The upcoming film will find Bond having left active service, but that all changes when Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright) comes calling to enlist his help to search for a missing scientist. When it becomes apparent that the scientist was abducted, Bond must confront a danger the likes of which the world has never seen before.

Daniel Craig's run of Bond films have presented us with some memorable villains, including Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelsen), Raoul Silva (Javier Bardem), and Ernst Stavro Blofeld (Christoph Waltz), and NO TIME TO DIE will be giving Bond a new foe in Safin, played by Rami Malek. While speaking with Empire, franchise producer Barbara Broccoli teased that Safin is a nasty piece of work.

We’ve thrown the book at [Bond] on this one. [Safin] is really the supervillain. He’s the one that really gets under Bond’s skin. He’s a nasty piece of work.

Thankfully, James Bond has plenty of friends to help him out with Safin, including Felix Leiter (Wright), Q (Ben Whishaw), Moneypenny (Naomie Harris), M (Ralph Fiennes), Bill Tanner (Rory Kinnear), Dr Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux), as well as Nomi, a new character played by Lashana Lynch. By and large, I've really enjoyed Daniel Craig's Bond films and will be sorry to see him go, but the time has certainly come for someone new to fill 007's shoes. Here's hoping that NO TIME TO DIE gives Craig the rockin' conclusion that he deserves.

NO TIME TO DIE will hit theaters in the United Kingdom on April 3, 2020 and on April 8, 2020 in the United States.
