After surprising Bat-fans with a stunning first season of stylish action, it's been announced that Epix will host a second season of PENNYWORTH, the one-hour drama centered around the early escapades of Bruce Wayne's butler, Alfred Pennyworth. Much like the first season, the second round of PENNYWORTH will consist of 10 episodes. Plans are for the show to begin filming at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the UK this coming January.

PENNYWORTH hails from Warner Horizon Scripted Television and is based on DC characters created by Bob Kane with Bill Finger. The show follows Bruce Wayne’s legendary butler, Alfred Pennyworth (Jack Bannon), a former British SAS soldier in his twenties, who forms a security company and goes to work with a young billionaire by the name of Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge). Taking place in a 1960s London, PENNYWORTH finds Batman's future father figure and confidant engaging in a series of dangerous missions that, should he fail, will change the course of history as we know it.

In addition to Jack Bannon (THE IMITATION GAME, RIPPER STREET) and Ben Aldridge (OUR GIRL, FLEABAG), cast members include multi-award-winning recording artist Paloma Faith, Jason Flemyng (THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON), Ryan Fletcher (OUTLANDER), Hainsley Lloyd Bennett (EASTENDERS), Emma Paetz (GENTLEMAN JACK), Polly Walker (THE MENTALIST, ROME) and Emma Corrin (THE CROWN).

Epix President Michael Wright recently spoke quite highly about PENNYWORTH, saying that the show has been a smash hit for the network and that he looks forward to presenting more of Alfred's adventures in 2020.

“Pennyworth has been a big hit for us, embraced by critics and fans alike,” Wright said, “It was the highest-performing original series ever to premiere on Epix, more than doubling the viewership of the shows that came before it. Bruno Heller, Danny Cannon and WBTV have delivered a brilliant, must-watch series. We can’t wait to work with this phenomenal cast and creative team on another exciting season.”
