Today is the day people. Today is the day Disney fires a Willie the Giant sized harpoon into the ocean of streaming services. Today is the day Disney+ launches. The new streaming platform is set to have a myriad of content, everything from classics like BAMBI and SLEEPING BEAUTY to most of the Marvel catalog. There's also a slate of original programming on the way including THE MANDALORIAN.
However, one of the most talked about upcoming shows is the Marvel original THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER. The show will chronicle the adventures of Sam Wilson AKA The Falcon, and Bucky Barnes AKA The Winter Soldier. Filming got underway just last month in Atlanta, Georgia and now we have a bit better idea of what the aesthetic will be for the upcoming show. Disney+ just released a Marvel documentary called "Expanding the Universe" and the doc contained a first look at the costume design for many of the shows' main characters including the Falcon, the Winter Soldier, Baron Zemo, Sharon Carter, and USAgent/John Walker. Check them out below:
I don't know about you guys but these initial designs look awesome. They had my curiosity, but now they definitely have my attention.
THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER will consist of six episodes and stars Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Daniel Bruhl, Emily VanCamp, and Wyatt Russell, and will hit Disney+ sometime in late 2020.
