New clip for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is full of spoilery goodness

SPOILERS for STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER. Be warned. If you're hoping to walk into STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER knowing as little as possible, then it's probably best to avoid this new clip form the upcoming finale, but I'll take one for the team and watch it for you. As we know, THE RISE OF SKYWALKER somehow features the return of Emperor Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid), and the new clip which Lucasfilm has released seems to reveal just how Palpatine figures into the Sequel Trilogy.

We see Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) traveling to an unknown planet and descending into some creepy underground catacombs. It's then that we hear Palpatine speak, as he says, "At last, my boy. I have been every voice you have ever heard inside your head," but half way through that line, Palpatine's voice switches to that of Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis) and then to Darth Vader (James Earl Jones). This seems to imply that Emperor Palpatine was the true force behind Kylo Ren's turn to the dark side from the very beginning.

STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER will hit theaters on December 20th.
