With the release of STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER tantalizingly close, let's bring the day to a close with a little musical tidbit about the finale of the Skywalker Saga. Lin-Manuel Miranda, the composer, writer, and singer behind the Broadway musicals In the Heights and Hamilton, took to Twitter the other day to reveal that he wrote a little bit of music for THE RISE OF SKYWALKER alongside director J.J. Abrams.
NOW IT CAN BE TOLD??@jjabrams & I wrote a lil music for a planet in #TheRiseOfSkywalker
It’s got a nice beat & you can dance to it.
Can’t wait to see it this weekend! pic.twitter.com/vKuoNtYgkw— Lin-Manuel Miranda (@Lin_Manuel) December 17, 2019
Something to keep an ear out for when we finally get to see the film. As glimpsed in a behind-the-scenes featurette released last month, Lin-Manuel Miranda also appears to have a cameo in STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER as well. This won't be Miranda's first contribution to a STAR WARS film, as he also collaborated with J.J. Abrams on two songs for Maz Canata's cantina for STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS. STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER hits theaters on December 20th, so be sure to check out a review from our own Matt Rooney!
