You better watch out
You better not cry
You better not pout
I'm telling you why
Snyder Claus is coming to town
This past Christmas Day, director Zack Snyder presented fans of the DC Extended Universe with the gift of new photos from his rumored "Snyder Cut" of JUSTICE LEAGUE. For what feels like forever, the SUCKER PUNCH and WATCHMEN helmer has been teasing fans with looks at his unreleased version of DC's superhero spectacle, which had been finished by director Joss Whedon after Snyder left the project during post-production due to the sudden death of his daughter, Autumn Snyder.
Snyderphiles were found beaming with glee this Christmas, after the director posted seven black-and-white photos to his personal Vero account. You can check out the gallery below:
In looking at the photos, you'll notice that Snyder has included quotes from the movie EXCALIBUR, which when pieced together point toward a discussion shared by Arthur and Perceval about the Holy Grail. This detail is a bit of an eye roll if you ask me, but then again I'm not among the many who've so eagerly enlisted in the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut army. That being said, I completely recognize that a Snyder Cut of JUSTICE LEAGUE is something that fans of the director want, and I mean this sincerely, I hope that the film is one day released. Snyder clearly had a very different vision of what that film could have been, and I think it would be cool to have an alternate version of the film out there in the wild.
Before we get out of here, allow me to throw a bit of fuel on the fire. Last month, Snyder seemingly confirmed the existence of his "Snyder Cut" by posting an ominous photo online. Included in the photo that showed several reels of film marked "JL" for JUSTICE LEAGUE were the words "Is it real? Does it exist? Of course it does." While I have my doubts that Warner Bros. would ever release Snyder's version of the film, stranger things have happened. The belief of many is that with enough momentum, WB will cave to the demands of Snyderphiles and release the director's intended cut of the movie. As I'd implied earlier, I wouldn't hold your breath over it or anything, but again, you never know unless you try, right?
