Trailer for Devs gives us first look at Alex Garland’s mindf**ky new series

After EX MACHINA and ANNIHILATION, I'm down for whatever Alex Garland wants to throw at us, and his next project to hit our screens will be Devs, a tech-thriller which follows the story of a young software engineer, Lily Chan (Sonoya Mizuno), who investigates the secretive development division of her employer which she believe is behind her boyfriend's murder. The first trailer for the upcoming series has been released, and it looks to be a mesmerizing mindf**ky piece of drama.

Alex Garland has previously said that the eight-part series is "sort of science fiction, but it's a much more technology based sci fi whereas Annihilation is a more hallucinogenic form of sci fi and more fantastical form of sci fi. This is slightly more in common with projects I've worked on like Ex Machina or Never Let Me Go, which are taking something about our world now — not our world in the future, but our world as it is right now — and then drawing sort of inferences and conclusions from it." In addition to Sonoya Mizuno (Maniac), Devs also stars Nick Offerman (Parks & Recreation), Jin Ha (Jesus Christ Superstar), Zach Grenier (The Good Fight), Stephen McKinley Henderson (LADY BIRD), Cailee Spaeny (PACIFIC RIM: UPRISING), and Alison Pill (Star Trek: Picard).

Devs will debut on March 5, 2020, exclusively on FX on Hulu, which is a new digital hub on Hulu.
