Disney reveals release window for The Mandalorian & the Marvel TV shows

We finally caught our first real glimpse at a few of Marvel's upcoming TV shows during the Super Bowl, and now Disney's Bob Iger has given us a much better idea of when we can expect the to see Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, as well as the second season of The Mandalorian. The Disney CEO spoke with investors during a recent earnings call, where he revealed that Disney+ has reached 28.6 million paid subscribers three months after launch, as well as the release window for a few of the streaming service's upcoming shows.

• The Falcon and the Winter Solider – August 2020.
• The Mandalorian Season Two – October 2020.
• WandaVision – December 2020.

Although Loki was included in the Super Bowl spot, we already know that the series won't debut until 2021. Additionally, Bob Iger also said that The Mandalorian will likely run more than two seasons and even teased a spin-off or two, saying there's "the possibility of infusing [The Mandalorian] with more characters and taking those characters in their own direction in terms of series." Iger also revealed that there are many more Marvel TV shows in the works as well. "There are seven other Marvel series in various stages of development or pre-production," Iger said.

Here are the synopsis' for the upcoming Marvel shows on Disney+:

• THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER – Following the events of “Avengers: Endgame,” Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) team up in a global adventure that tests their abilities—and their patience—in Marvel Studios’ “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.” The all-new series is directed by Kari Skogland; Malcolm Spellman is the head writer.
• WANDAVISION – Marvel Studios’ “WandaVision” blends the style of classic sitcoms with the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany)—two super-powered beings living their ideal suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems. The new series is directed by Matt Shakman; Jac Schaeffer is head writer.
• LOKI – In Marvel Studios’ “Loki,” the mercurial villain Loki (Tom Hiddleston) resumes his role as the God of Mischief in a new series that takes place after the events of “Avengers: Endgame.” Kate Herron directs and Michael Waldron is head writer.
