DC Universe might have banished SWAMP THING back to the bog after just one episode, though it would appear as if HARLEY QUINN, the streamer's mature-rated animated series featuring Daddy's Little Monster, is still going strong. Today DC Universe unleashed a new trailer and official release date for the Season 2 premiere of HARLEY QUINN, which is now set to smash onto the scene come April 3, which just two short weeks away!
Naturally, the upcoming season of HARLEY QUINN picks up where the previous season left off, with Harls (Kaley Cuoco) having kicked the Joker to the curb by seemingly killing him, teaming up with her bestest gal pal, Poison Ivy (Lake Bell), and gearing up to take Gotham by storm thanks to her new lease on life.
One would suspect that Season 2 of HARLEY QUINN was produced as a part of the show's Season 1 effort, given that DC had split the season into two halves as a way of offering DC Universe subscribers more content for their monthly dollar. For the moment, a third season of HARLEY QUINN has yet to be announced. That's not to say that the show is going away though. As you're likely to be aware, Warnermedia is debating the need for DC Universe as the launch of the HBO Max streaming service draws near. It could be that the WB's DC-related content will be offered as a part of that service, though we'll have to wait for confirmed details to be sure.
In addition to teasing more Harley-related mayhem, the trailer also offers a look at Catwoman, who's voiced by THE TWILIGHT ZONE actress Sanaa Lathan. We also get a gander at the chilling Mr. Freeze, as voiced by RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK and BOOGIE NIGHTS actor Alfred Molina. That's not to say that some of your favorites aren't returning for the sophomore season, including King Shark (Ron Funches), Dr. Psycho (Tony Hale), Clayface (Alan Tudyk), Riddler (Jim Rash), Bane (James Adomian), and of course, Kite Man (Matt Oberg)! Hell yeah! Lots of other characters join the fray as well, but to find out which rogues are running rampant in Gotham this time out, you'll have tune in.
Season 2 of HARLEY QUINN will arrive on DC Universe come April 3.
