The Force is strong once again with Disney's upcoming Star Wars spinoff centering on one of the franchise's most beloved Jedi Masters, Obi-Wan Kenobi.
It's been announced that the series set in a galaxy far, far away, starring Ewan McGregor as Luke Skywalker's mentor, Obi-Wan Kenobi, has found a new writer in ARMY OF THE DEAD scribe Joby Harold. In addition to putting pen to digital paper for Zack Snyder's upcoming zombie flick, Harold executive produced JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 3 – PARABELLUM, and helped produce films the likes of KING ARTHUR: LEGEND OF THE SWORD and TRUMBO.
Disney's Obi-Wan series was placed on hold in January after proposed scripts fell short of expectations. The series is expected to have a flavor similar to that of Jon Favreau's THE MANDALORIAN, with the Jedi Master teaching Luke Skywalker the ways of The Force.
Helming the series is fan favorite THE MANDALORIAN director Deborah Chow, whose episodes for the bounty hunter and Baby Yoda spinoff were among the best in the series. A release date for Obi-Wan's episodic adventures has yet to be officially announced, though it's previously been confirmed that Ewan McGregor will be reprising his iconic role as Obi-Wan from George Lucas' three prequel Star Wars films.
In other Star Wars-related news, a second season of THE MANDALORAIAN is already in the works, as is a ROGUE ONE prequel focusing on Diego Luna's Cassian Andor.
We'll be sure to bring you more news about the Obi-Wan series as well as all things Star Wars as more information becomes available.
