Maika Monroe lets in a monster in new trailer for Quibi’s The Stranger

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Quibi launched earlier this week, but unfortunately, it doesn't appear as though the short-form streaming service is garnering much attention, even after founder Jeffrey Katzenberg has offered the service for free for 90 days. If you are a fan of what Quibi is doing, then there's plenty more to look forward to, including The Stranger, a psychological thriller series which stars Dane DeHaan (VALERIAN AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS) and Maika Monroe (IT FOLLOWS). The streaming service has dropped a new trailer for the series, which follows a ride-share driver (Monroe) as she lives out her worst nightmare when she picks up a mysterious passenger (DeHaan) from a mansion. The passenger soon reveals that he has actually murdered the occupant of the mansion and threatens to kill her as well, unless she can tell him a "really good story." The series has been written, directed, and executive produced by Veena Sud, best known for AMC's The Killing.

Some of the other shows developed for Quibi include The Fugitive starring Kiefer Sutherland and Boyd Holbrook, a revival of Reno 911, Most Dangerous Game starring Liam Hemsworth and Christoph Waltz, Survive starring Sophie Turner and Corey Hawkins, 50 States of Fright, an anthology horror series from Sam Raimi, as well as Spielberg's After Dark, a horror series written and created by Steven Spielberg which, through the miracle of technology, you'll only be able to watch after sunset.

The Stranger will hit Quibi on April 13th.
