If anyone knows high-speed action, it's David Leitch, the master behind JOHN WICK, DEADPOOL 2, ATOMIC BLONDE, and HOBBS & SHAW, and it was announced today that Leitch has signed on to helm BULLET TRAIN for Sony Pictures.

BULLET TRAIN is slated to revolve around a group of hitmen and assassins with conflicting motives on board a train in Tokyo and is said to be in the vein of Keanu Reeves' SPEED and Liam Neeson's NON-STOP. Zak Olkewicz (FEAR STREET) is set to pen the script with Leitch overseeing as well as serving as producer. Sony is hoping that production on BULLET TRAIN will be able to get underway this fall, and as the film is a contained thriller, it will be easier to adhere to the new COVID-19 health restrictions than an action movie with actual locations would.

David Leitch has several projects in the works in addition to BULLET TRAIN, including a feature-film adaptation of the classic 70s TV series Kung Fu. Along with his JOHN WICK co-director, Leitch is also involved with THE MATRIX 4 assisting Lana Wachowski with a few of the stunt sequences.
