Hold on to your butts, Jurassic World: Dominion’s got Dodgson!

Jurassic World: Dominion, Jurassic Park, Dodgson, Campbell Scott

JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION will already feature its fair share of characters from JURASSIC PARK, but according to Collider, another character from the original film will be joining the production. Near the beginning of Steven Spielberg's original, we've introduced to Dennis Nedry (Wayne Knight), an employee of InGen who is selling out the park's secrets to Lewis Dodgson, with Nedry memorably shouting, "Dodgson! We've got Dodgson here!" when he objects to Nedry using his real name in public.

It seems that Lewis Dodgson will be returning for JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION, but as the original actor is now a convicted sex offender, the role will be played by Campbell Scott, who you might recognize as Peter Parker's father in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN. In Micheal Crichton's novel, Dr. Lewis Dodgson was the head of product development at BioSyn, a rival of InGen, and the new film will apparently find Dodgson as BioSyn's new CEO. Perhaps Nedry's Barbasol can will make a return?

JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION, the third installment of the JURASSIC WORLD trilogy, will find Owen (Chris Pratt), Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard), and others dealing with the fallout of JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM, which found dinosaurs now freely roaming the American wilderness and urban areas. The film will also feature the return of Jeff Goldblum as Dr. Ian Malcolm, Sam Neill as Dr. Alan Grant, and Laura Dern as Dr. Ellie Sattler. Colin Trevorrow discussed why the time was finally right to bring back the original JURASSIC PARK trio last year, and why they weren't included in the first JURASSIC WORLD film.

We’d have had to come up with a reason why Ellie, Malcolm and Grant all went to the theme park on the exact same day it broke down – again. The next film allows the legacy characters to be a part of the story in an organic way. Emily Carmichael and I call it ‘Jurassic Park VI’, because it is.

Although we caught a glimpse of Jeff Goldblum in JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM, we haven't seen Sam Neill and Laura Dern since JURASSIC PARK III, nearly twenty years ago. "You start asking the most basic questions: who are these people now? What do they make of the new world they’re living in, and how do they feel about being part of its history?" Trevorrow teased. "Ultimately it will be in collaboration with the actors. They know and love these characters. We’ll do it together." JURASSIC WORLD 3 is set for a June 11, 2021 release, but as production was put on hold due to COVID-19, that date may very well change.
