David Ayer unleashes a tease for tomorrow’s full The Tax Collector trailer

If you've got six seconds to spare, might I suggest that you check out the new teaser for David Ayer's THE TAX COLLECTOR? Ayer posted the oh-so-brief teaser video to his official Twitter account on Tuesday with a warning that stated: "Payback comes with interest."

Directed and written by Ayer (BRIGHT, SUICIDE SQUAD), who co-produced the feature with Chris Long and Tyler Thompson, THE TAX COLLECTOR stars Shia LaBeouf, Bobby Soto, George Lopez, Lana Parrilla, and Elpidia Carrillo. In the film, David (Bobby Soto) and Creeper (Shia LaBeouf), are “tax collectors” for the crime lord Wizard, collecting his cut from the profits of local gangs’ illicit dealings. But when Wizard’s old rival returns to Los Angeles from Mexico, the business is upended, and David finds himself desperate to protect what matters more to him than anything else: his family.

Recently while speaking with Collider via email, the outlet asked Ayer about why this particular story called out to him. Ayer then replied, “I wanted to get back to my roots. I wanted to share the streets I know, the world I know. It’s a personal and tough movie about the LA I love.”
