No Time to Die has been pushed back yet again to 2021

It's not exactly a big surprise, but the release of NO TIME TO DIE has been pushed back yet again. The twenty-fifth James Bond film was originally slated to hit theaters back in April, but when COVID-19 began spreading, the studio pushed the film back to a November release, which seemed like a overly large delay at the time; oh, how naive we were. Well, the filmmakers have announced that NO TIME TO DIE is now slated to hit theaters on April 2, 2021.

"MGM, Universal and Bond producers, Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, today announced the release of ‘No Time To Die,’ the 25th film in the James Bond series, will be delayed until 2 April in order to be seen by a worldwide theatrical audience," the filmmakers said in a statement. "We understand the delay will be disappointing to our fans but we now look forward to sharing ‘No Time To Die’ next year." While it's a shame that we'll have to wait longer to see Daniel Craig's fifth and final James Bond adventure, it's entirely understandable given the current climate. One by one, we've seen most of the remaining major releases of 2020 get pushed to 2021. The new date for NO TIME TO DIE also happens to be when F9 is slated hit theaters, so chances are good that we might see the ninth FAST & FURIOUS film shift yet again.

NO TIME TO DIE will continue on where SPECTRE left off, with James Bond having left active service to begin a new life with Dr. Swann (Léa Seydoux), but Bond is soon brought back into action when Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright) comes calling to enlist his help in searching for a missing scientist. When it becomes apparent that the scientist was abducted, Bond must confront a danger the likes of which the world has never seen before in a villain armed with dangerous new technology. The film also stars Rami Malek, Lashana Lynch, Ana de Armas, Christoph Waltz, Ben Whishaw, Naomis Harris, Rory Kinnear, Ralph Fiennes, Dali Benssalah, David Dencik, and Billy Magnussen, with Cary Fukunaga directing from a script he co-wrote with Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. NO TIME TO DIE will now hit theaters on April 2, 2021, unless, you know, the world doesn't magically correct itself on New Years Day.
