While detailing some of her favorite places to travel, Elizabeth Olsen has revealed when she will begin filming her role in the sequel DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS, and it looks like she will be heading to work just in time for the holiday season.
Olsen, who recently wrapped production on the Marvel TV series WandaVision, was talking with "CN Traveler" about some of her favorite travel destinations and she said "London. Primrose Hill, Hampstead, the Heath, Belsize Park…that's where I lived when I worked for six months on my first Avengers film." Olsen then revealed that she is coming back to the area soon to begin work on her next MCU project, which is the DOCTOR STRANGE sequel.
"I am moving back soon to film the sequel to Doctor Strange, so I'll be there for Christmas, just outside of London. Even given the current circumstances, it will be a nice trip."
The circumstances she is speaking of regard to the public health crisis which has seen the U.K., and the rest of world, see a new surge of COVID-19 cases that has led to new restrictions and lockdowns. The local government in the U.K. is allowing film and TV productions to continue, as long as they follow strict safety protocols. Marvel Studios has actually had projects filming for a few months in various areas as the surge has continued. WandaVision needed to be finished up to meet its January premiere date and the Loki series and SPIDER-MAN 3 are filming in Atlanta. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has also been trying to wrap things up in various locations to keep things on track, despite the pandemic.
DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS sees director Sam Raimi taking over for Scott Derrickson it's supposed to be something very different and unique for the MCU. WandaVision is said to lead directly into this new film so that will explain Olsen's presence in the movie and she'll be joined by Benedict Cumberbatch, reprising the titular role, along with Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Benedict Wong.
What do YOU hope to see in the DOCTOR STRANGE sequel? DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS hits screens on March 25, 2022.
