The Flash: Cyborg role has reportedly been written out of the DC film

It sounds as if Warner Bros. has called Ray Fisher on his threat and proactively removed him from his role as Cyborg. Reports have surfaced claiming that Fisher's character has been removed from the screenplay for The Flash and will not be recast. It's also been said that Fisher will not be asked to participate in any DC Films project going forward. This news comes in the wake of Walter Hamada being retained as the head of DC Films. Fisher publicly stated that he would appear in no WB projects should Hamada remain in control of the studio.

Fisher tweeted on December 30, “Walter Hamada is the most dangerous kind of enabler. He lies, and WB PR’s failed Sept. 4th hit-piece sought to undermine the very real issues of the Justice League investigation.” He then added, “I will not participate in any production associated with him.”

Fisher's bold words arrived not long after the evening of December 11th, when WarnerMedia released a statement saying the Justice League investigation was a wrap. While the studio insisted that "remedial action" had been taken, they failed to provide proof of any disciplinary measures actually taking place. Obviously, this did not sit well with Fisher, who has since made it his personal mission to alert the public about his continued qualms with the studio. It's worth noting that Hamada was never a part of Justice League's production efforts and that he was not at the front of DC Films when the film was originally released.

Fisher is a relatively new face in Hollywood, having appeared on an episode of The Astronaut Wives Club, before being cast as Cyborg for Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. His final appearance as the character will be for Snyder's version of Justice League, which is scheduled for a March release on HBO Max.

Last July, Fisher publicly accused Joss Whedon of “gross, abusive, unprofessional” behavior on the set of Justice League. Several of Fisher's Justice League co-stars came to his defense at one time or another, but their support appears to have fallen on deaf ears given the results of WB's investigation. When the investigation was launched, Fisher relaxed, but it didn't take long for him to shine a hot light on the studio once more when he tweeted, “After speaking out about Justice League, I received a phone call from the President of DC Films wherein he attempted to throw Joss Whedon and Jon Berg under the bus in hopes that I would relent on Geoff Johns. I will not.”

DC Films' The Flash certainly has had a number of troubles on its way to the silver screen, and sadly, Ray Fisher's Cyborg reportedly being written out of the film is just another blow to the long-gestating project.
