In the words of Ron Popeil — "But wait, there's more!" After a lengthy delay due to COVID-19, The Walking Dead's tenth season finale dropped last October, but when it was announced that the series would conclude with a super-sized eleventh season, it was also revealed that the team would be shooting six additional episodes that would be a part of the tenth season.
AMC has dropped a new trailer for these additional episodes which features, among other things, Maggie (Lauren Cohen) setting out on the path to revenge. If you've forgotten, Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) did brutally murder Maggie's husband Glen (Steven Yeun) and hasn't yet faced justice for that particular act, at least in the eyes of Maggie. It's been a couple of seasons since I last watched The Walking Dead with any regularity, but now that's it's coming to an end, perhaps I should jump back onboard.
Although The Walking Dead may be approaching the finish line, there's still plenty to come in the franchise, including a seventh season of Fear the Walking Dead, a second and final season of The Walking Dead: World Beyond, the anthology series Tales of the Walking Dead, and a spin-off series that will focus on Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride). There's also a series of Walking Dead movies that will feature the return of Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes. Production on the first film was naturally delayed due to COVID-19, but Lincoln revealed his hope last month that shooting could finally get underway this spring. The Walking Dead will return on February 28, 2021.
