Evan Peters plays Charles Manson, David Koresh & Jim Jones in AHS: Cult?!

We are only a little over a week away from the September 5th premiere of Ryan Murphy's new season of AMERICAN HORROR STORY on FX.

Recently journalists have screened the first three episodes, and during the event, Murphy dropped some interesting info on AHS: CULT, including who Lena Dunham plays and (how many) roles Evan Peters plays this time around.

Let's go over Lena Dunham first because why not? Turns out Dunham will be playing Valerie Solanas aka "the woman who attempted to assassinate Andy Warhol." 

Dunham will appear in flashbacks during episode 7: “Valerie Solanas Died for Your Sins: Scumbag.”

Speaking of Andy Warhol, Murphy also confirmed Peters will be not only be playing Warhol this season, but also "various cult leaders" including David Koresh, Jim Jones, and Charles f*cking Manson.

Turns out Murphy has been trying to get Manson into AHS for over three years and found the election, was perfect for examining "the cult of personality, and how it takes advantaged of people at broken times."

Murphy on AHS: CULT:

We examine how these people rise to power — they’re idiots.

It’s about female rage and that’s in the country now. Solanas wrote the Scum Manifesto. She told all women to kill men, and it was their only way to rise to power.

Murphy on Trump and Clinton:

It’s not about Trump and Clinton (this season). It’s about somebody who put their finger up to the wind and rose up in power and used people’s vulnerabilities, and they feel the world is on fire.

American Horror Story 7 takes place in the suburbs of contemporary Detroit with Sarah Paulson in the lead as a New Yorker traumatized by the attacks on September 11th. She developed three strange phobias; Trypophobia, anxiety for patterns in objects with holes or bumps; Coulrophobia, anxiety for clowns, and hemophobia, and irrational fear of blood.
