Robert Englund ventures into the Shadows of History for Travel Channel

Travel Channel has picked up six episodes of a new series called Shadows of History, which is hosted by A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET star / horror icon Robert Englund. The show will be focusing on "frightening, odd, and creepy" stories that have been reported across America throughout the years. In each episode, Englund will 

track down the story behind a bizarre or mysterious account printed in an American newspaper in the past. He will enlist historians and scholars to get to the truth behind the reports.

Travel Channel GM Jane Latman had this to say about the show: 

How can you make fascinating and petrifying stories even more scary? Add the genius of Robert Englund. As if tales of flying monsters, zombie cannibals, and ghost ships were not enough, we are cranking up the volume for maximum impact. And our fans are going to go nuts for this legendary actor."

I don't usually watch Travel Channel, but a show that will follow Robert Englund as he looks into stories of monsters and cannibals is one I might have to tune in for.

A premiere date for Shadows of History has not yet been announced. The series is produced by Workaholic Productions, with Luke Ellis serving as executive producer for Workaholic and Daniel A. Schwartz executive producing for Travel Channel.
