Portals

Screen Media has picked up the worldwide rights to the anthology PORTALS, which is about strange events taking place worldwide. Created by Chris White, the film focuses on

a series of worldwide blackouts — after which millions of mysterious cosmic anomalies appear everywhere across the planet. While many flee from the sentient objects, some people are drawn toward — and into — them with horrifying consequences.

This is the sort of anthology where different segments were helmed by different filmmakers. The stories of blackouts and cosmic anomalies are brought to the screen by directors Liam O'Donnell (BEYOND SKYLINE), Timo Tjahjanto (THE NIGHT COMES FOR US), Eduardo Sanchez (THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT), and Gregg Hale, a producer of THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT who co-directed a segment of V/H/S 2 with Sanchez.

With that line-up of filmmakers, it seems like this is one to look forward to.

PORTALS was produced by White, Bloody Disgusting's Brad Miska and Tom Owen, and BoulderLight Pictures' J.D. Lifshitz and Raphael Margules.

Screen Media is planning to give the film a multi-platform release this fall.
