With five core films and a couple spin-offs, the PARANORMAL ACTIVITY franchise went dormant after the 2015 release of PARANORMAL ACTIVITY: THE GHOST DIMENSION… But you can never expect a horror series to stay down for too long, and now there's more paranormal activity being stirred up by Paramount Pictures and Blumhouse Productions.

Paramount's Studio Chairman and CEO Jim Gianopulos broke the PARANORMAL ACTIVITY news at the CineEurope event, telling attendees that,

We are partnering with uber horror producer Jason Blum to bring a new installment of PARANORMAL ACTIVITY."

That's all the information Gianopulos revealed, but given how quickly these movies can be put together (they used to come out every year), it probably won't be long before we know more about what Paramount and Blumhouse have in the works here.

I haven't seen all of the PARANORMAL ACTIVITY movies, I only watched a couple of the sequels and from what I saw I can't say I liked anything that followed the first movie. So this announcement doesn't do much for me, but I'm sure the franchise has fans who have been rooting for it to come back.
