John Krasinski's A QUIET PLACE PART II starring Emily Blunt has started filming and this new entry sees the return of not only Blunt, but young stars Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe as well. The family will be joined this time around by Cillian Murphy (BATMAN BEGINS) and today we hear that Djimon Hounsou (see above) is replacing Brian Tyree Henry who has exited over scheduling problems.
Recently Henry was asked where the story goes in this one saying:
I’m still trying to find that out, but I really think that what we’ll do is we’ll see more of that family continuing to survive and finding out that they’re not the only ones. And I think that we’re also going to get a few answers to the origin of where and how this whole thing happened. I think that people want to know that. But I think you’re just going to see another side of it… more of humanity that survived this thing in this next story."
The original film was based on a screenplay written by Krasinski along with Bryan Woods and Scott Beck and is:
A taut and original thriller that follows a family who must navigate their lives in silence to avoid mysterious creatures that hunt by sound. Knowing that even the slightest whisper or footstep can bring death, Evelyn (Emily Blunt) and Lee (John Krasinski) are determined to find a way to protect their children at all costs while they desperately search for a way to fight back. The film earned a 95% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes and generated an extraordinary $175M+ at the domestic box office.
Paramount Pictures moved their sequel from its previously announced May 15, 2020 release date up to March 20, 2019. That said, the original flick is now available on Digital, 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD. You can pick up a copy on Blu-ray HERE.
