Earlier this afternoon we shared the news that co-writer Danny McBride says Blumhouse and director David Gordon Green's two new HALLOWEEN movies, HALLOWEEN KILLS and HALLOWEEN ENDS, will start filming in three weeks. Or, you know, at least HALLOWEEN KILLS will. And here's hoping they include a cameo by MY BLOODY VALENTINE and HALLOWEEN III: SEASON OF THE WITCH star Tom Atkins, who just put it out there that he would love to return for a cameo in the upcoming films.
Atkins admits:
I would love to do a cameo in one of the new ones, I'd jump right in that. I would love to do that… I would love to do it. But [the filmmakers], so far, they haven't jumped out at me.
I don't know about you but I hope the powers that be behind the scenes at Blumhouse take notice of Atkins' interest and snatch the man up as soon as possible. Especially if they get him to return as his character from HALLOWEEN III. That would be badass! For those who might not remember, Atkins played Hospital emergency room Dr. Daniel "Dan" Challis in HALLOWEEN III: SEASON OF THE WITCH. His character helps out Stacey Nelkin's
Ellie Grimbridge, the daughter of a murder victim, uncover a terrible plot by small-town mask maker Conal Cochran (Dan O'Herlihy), a madman who's planning a Halloween mass murder utilizing an ancient Celtic ritual. The ritual involves a boulder stolen from Stonehenge, the use of Silver Shamrock masks and a triggering device contained in a television commercial — all designed to kill millions of children.
HALLOWEEN III: SEASON OF THE WITCH was written and directed by Tommy Lee Wallace (IT, FRIGHT NIGHT PART 2) and produced by Debra Hill and John Carpenter. Atkins costars included Stacey Nelkin as Ellie Grimbridge and Dan O'Herlihy as Conal Cochran. Universal Pictures unleashed the Michael Myer-less sequel into theaters near your parents back on October 22, 1982. Buy it on Blu-ray HERE.
