Stefanie Scott of INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 3 and Isabelle Fuhrman of ORPHAN have signed on to star in writer/director Edoardo Vitaletti's "mythological horror" film THE LAST THING MARY SAW. Despite the same name being in the title, this has no connection to MARY, another horror film Scott recently appeared in.
Set in 1843, the film will center on
the youngest daughter of a strict religious family who finds herself detained after discovering her ominously matriarchal grandmother dead.
Judith Roberts and Rory Culkin are also in the cast.
This will be the feature directorial debut of Vitaletti. THE LAST THING MARY SAW is being produced by Stephen Tedeschi, with Aimee Schoof and Isen Robbins of Intrinsic Value, and Harrison Allen and Madeleine Schumacher of Arachnid Films. Scoop Wasserstein serves as executive producer.
The synopsis doesn't give us much to go on at this point, but the cast Vitaletti has in place is already enough to get me interested in checking out his movie.
THE LAST THING MARY SAW begins filming in New York this month.
