While most of us are still waiting for our chance to see musician Glenn Danzig's feature directorial debut VEROTIKA, a horror anthology that is reportedly so bad that it has achieved instant classic status, Danzig is already close to wrapping production on his second feature.
As Danzig told the audience at a VEROTIKA screening earlier this year, his second film is
a vampire-spaghetti western. The soundtrack has been done for two years and of course it sounds almost exactly like an Ennio Morricone soundtrack. I think I'm actually going to do a small part in it too. Everybody in the movie is a vampire. So, you won’t have to wait around to see the vampire. They're all f—ing vampires!"
There was another VEROTIKA screening a couple days ago, and during the Q&A that followed this one Danzig confirmed that his vampire Western is nearly complete. He also revealed that it stars Devon Sawa of FINAL DESTINATION, IDLE HANDS, ESCAPE PLAN: THE EXTRACTORS, and THE FANATIC (pictured above).
Our friends over at Bloody-Disgusting have heard that the film's title is DEATH RIDER.
A picture that indicates Danny Trejo may be in the DEATH RIDER cast (as he should be) was recently circulated, but his involvement with the project has not been confirmed.
I'm anxious to see VEROTIKA, but DEATH RIDER sounds even more appealing to me.
