The latest installment in the long-running JU-ON / GRUDGE franchise is set to reach theatres this weekend, with some theatres beginning to screen director Nicolas Pesce's THE GRUDGE tonight. In anticipation of the film's release, our own JimmyO managed to catch up with Pesce as well as stars John Cho and Lin Shaye to talk to them about this story set in the world Takashi Shimizu created twenty years ago. Cho and Shaye both have interesting things to say about their characters and the situations they're dealing with, while Pesce promises that the film will be accessible for people who have never seen a GRUDGE film before, but fans of the franchise will also have fun seeing what this new entry has brought to the mythology.
Pesce's version of THE GRUDGE is
a tapestry of three different stories that interweave and all take place at slightly different times, centered around this one house that’s at the center of this case that this cop is working on."
Cho and Shaye are joined in the cast by Andrea Riseborough and Demian Bichir.
