Dark Horse will unleash a 5-part mini-comic adaptation of Dan O'Bannon's original screenplay for ALIEN this April. The adaptation comes courtesy of Cristiano Seixas and Guilherme Balbi and is fittingly dubbed ALIEN: THE ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY. It follows in the footsteps of Dark Horse's 2018 series, which adapted William Gibson's original screenplay for David Fincher's ALIEN 3, restoring material excised in the final version of the script.

In the meantime, remember that the final version of the film took place in deep space and centered on
The crew of the commercial starship Nostromo who is awakened from their cryo-sleep capsules halfway through their journey home to investigate a distress call from an alien vessel. The terror begins when the crew encounters a nest of eggs inside the alien ship. An organism from inside an egg leaps out and attaches itself to one of the crew, causing him to fall into a coma.
ALIEN was directed by Ridley Scott and produced by Gordon Carroll, David Giler, and Walter Hill from the screenplay by Dan O'Bannon. It starred Tom Skerritt, Sigourney Weaver, Veronica Cartwright, Harry Dean Stanton, John Hurt, Ian Holm, and Yaphet Kotto. 20th Century Fox unleashed the (star) beast into a theater near your parents back on September 6, 1979. ALIEN: THE ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY launches on April 22, 2020.
