Much to my surprise, it seemed like you guys were pretty excited about the return of After Dark Films’ 8 Films To Die For; I cannot recall anyone really caring about the horror movie event in past years, but perhaps it’s one of those “you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone” deals. In any case, 8 Films To Die For is coming back, and as we reported earlier in the week, RE-KILL is the first title to shepherd in the new era.
Today brings news of the second feature: MURDER IN THE DARK, an experimental thriller that boasts a fairly intriguing synopsis. Take a look:
When a group of young people camping in the ruins of a medieval Turkish town play a party game called ‘Murder in the Dark’, they soon discover that someone is taking the game too far… Produced in an experimental shooting style, this murder-mystery features a cast of actors who were not allowed to see the script. The actors’ choices interactively changed the shape of the story. They had to use clues to solve the mystery laid out before them by the filmmakers.
Sounds like half movie, half reality show. I’m actually okay with that; let’s think outside the box more. Check out the teaser trailer and poster below.
MURDER IN THE DARK was written and directed by Dagen Merrill, and produced by Jaime Burke and Chris ‘Doc’ Wyatt.
