65 trailer: past and future collide in Sam Raimi-produced thriller starring Adam Driver

Details on the sci-fi thriller 65, which is coming to us from producer Sam Raimi and A Quiet Place (watch that one HERE) screenwriters Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, have been kept tightly under wraps up until this point… but now a trailer for the film has arrived online to give a glimpse of what this movie is going to have in store for viewers when it reaches theatres on March 10, 2023. (The same day as Scream 6, which also released a trailer this morning.) The 65 trailer can be seen in the embed above, and it even reveals the meaning of the title!

Beck and Woods have written and directed 65, which we had heard tells the story of an astronaut who crash lands on a mysterious planet discovers that he is not alone. The trailer gives away the fact that the mysterious planet the astronaut finds himself on is actually prehistoric Earth. That information is also given in the film’s new tagline: “65 million years ago, prehistoric Earth had a visitor.”

Adam Driver of the recent Star Wars trilogy stars in 65 alongside two child actors, Ariana Greenblatt (Love and Monsters) and Chloe Coleman (Big Little Lies). But there’s only one child character featured in the trailer. Where does the other one come from?

Raimi and Zainab Azizi produced the film for Raimi Productions. Beck and Woods are also producing, under their Beck/Woods banner, alongside Debbie Liebling. Beck and Woods previously worked with Raimi on 50 States of Fright, the anthology series he was producing for the now-defunct streaming service Quibi. That show is now available to watch on The Roku Channel.

What did you think of the 65 trailer? Let us know by leaving a comment below. This movie looks pretty cool to me – and as I’ve said before, the fact that Raimi put his name on it was already enough to guarantee that I would watch 65 someday. It’s a shame it has the same release date as Scream 6, though. If you have to choose between the two on opening weekend, which would you rather see: “Ghostface takes Manhattan”, or “Adam Driver vs. dinosaurs”?

Here’s the poster for 65:
