These past few weeks have been pretty crazy with all of the new and first trailers that have been released, and now you can add another movie to the list: EDDIE THE EAGLE.
The comedic biopic comes from LOCK, STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS actor and SUNSHINE ON LEITH director Dexter Fletcher, and stars Taron Egerton (KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE) as Michael Edwards (better known as Eddie "The Eagle" Edwards), the first competitor to represent Great Britain in Olympic ski jumping, and Hugh Jackman as Bronson Peary, his coach/mentor. Although Edwards (spoiler alert?) ended up finishing last in both the 70m and 90m events at the 1988 Winter Games, he became popular for his "heroic failures."
Things get a little more serious towards the end of the trailer, but EDDIE THE EAGLE looks like it's going to be a fun movie, and I'm really loving Egerton as the farsighted British skier. Are you interested in checking out the biopic?
EDDIE THE EAGLE is due out in U.S. theaters on February 26, 2016, and is scheduled to open in the U.K. on April 1, 2016.
