THE DARK KNIGHT RISES wasn’t your only chance to be part of the crowd in a comic book movie– IRON MAN 3 needs bodies too! Premier Casting revealed that the production will need about 1,000 extras for the filming of the flick in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Received an email this morning. IRON MAN 3 will use about 1,000 extras during the film and there will be over 550 crew jobs and will be shooting from May 2012 until January 2013 with a Memorial Day weekend release in 2013.

Premier isn’t handling the background yet, as they announced via a later status update-
ATTENTION! We would like to let everyone know that no one, or company (including us), has yet been hired to handle the background for IRON MAN 3. We have started our company in order to be able and available to help accommodate any production that comes to our area. Our casting call was done in order to help fill our database with as many people (options) as possible. Thanks!
Smart for them! But actors in North Carolina might want to keep an eye out for pportunities.
IRON MAN 3 will hit theaters on May 3rd, 2013.
