10 Cloverfield Lane writers to adapt creepy sci-fi short story Covenant

A few years ago, Elizabeth Bear's "creepy sci-fi short story" COVENANT was published in the pages of the anthology Hieroglyph: Stories & Visions for a Better Future (you can pick up a copy of the book HERE, or read Bear's story HERE). Now a cinematic adaptation of the story is in the works, set up at Spyglass Media Group.

10 CLOVERFIELD LANE writers Josh Campbell and Matt Stuecken are working on the screenplay. The announcement of the project says the logline is being kept under wraps, but we do have the description of Bear's story to go by:

A former serial killer – the beneficiary of "rightminding", a process that cures psychopathy by forcibly bestowing empathy – finds herself in a very dangerous situation.

I haven't read the full story at the link I provided above, but that description sounds interesting.

Roger Birnbaum and Michael Besman are producing COVENANT for Arts District Entertainment. Spyglass VP Production Chris Stone is overseeing the project.
