If you’ve never had the pleasure of witnessing the lovable insanity of kids show “Yo Gabba Gabba!” you’re missing out. The Nickelodeon show has featured such guest stars as Tony Hawk, Elijah Wood, The Shins, The Ting Tings and, of course, my favorite Biz Markie’s Beat of the Day. Any kids show that has Biz Markie teaching kids to human beat box is a-OK in my book. Now it seems like Nickelodeon (and parent company Paramount) are looking to take “Yo Gabba” to the big screen. In an article in USA Today, the show’s producer confirmed that a feature film based on the adventures of DJ Lance Rock, Muno, Foofa, Brobee, Toodee and Plex. How they plan to adapt the abstract music-based series to a movie remains to be seen but if they can make “Pee-Wee’s Playhouse” into a movie, they can do it with “Yo Gabba.” Later this year Jack Black, Amy Sedaris, Jack McBrayer and others will be guesting on the show bringing it even more indie cred (if that’s possible). If you’ve never had the pleasure of “Yo Gabba Gabba’s” company, check out some of their videos here.
