Watchmen Blu-ray clip

When “Director’s Commentary” first became available on DVDs, I loved the feature. I used to watch a movie and then immediately rewatch it with the commentary turned on just to hear all the behind-the-scenes stuff. But as DVDs progressed, I found myself more and more bored with the audio commentary and never really all that interested in a video commentary. But after checking out Maximum Movie Mode, I think I have a new favorite.

Set to debut on the WATCHMEN Director’s Cut Blu-ray disk, Maximum Movie Mode, is a first-of-its-kind bonus feature that showcases a seamless multi-story presentation. Hosted by Zack Snyder, the feature will offer in-depth scene analysis, picture-in-picture videos from the cast and crew, side-by-side comparisons of the graphic novel and the film, photo galleries and more.

It’s really hard to describe the concept (and Snyder’s on-screen charisma plays a big part), so I’d recommend you just check out the clip below. I’ve been critical in the past that studios haven’t stepped up to the plate with any truly revolutionary Blu-ray features, but this looks like it’s got the goods. Check out the clip from Maximum Movie Mode below!
