Our man on the scene in LA JimmyO got a chance to visit Hydraulx, the FX studio where Greg and Colin Strause are putting the finishing touches on ALIENS VS. PREDATOR: REQUIEM. There he got to rap with the Strauses, see some footage from the film and take a look at how they're putting together some of the big scenes from the movie. Before he puts together his final report, he sent me a quick word on a possible third AVP movie. When asked about a third film, Colin Strause says, "The way we kind of end this, we are kind of done here [on Earth] so the next one may be before ALIEN but definitely kind of needs to be more of a space epic." It sounds like they're definitely invested in another AVP film. Strause adds, "the next ones gotta be in space." Funnily enough, their inspiration for REQUIEM was TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, which is an interesting slant. Based on what I've seen from REQUIEM, I'm definitely curious to see what they could pull of for the final installment in the trilogy. Stay tuned to JoBlo.com for more from the AVP-R edit bay including full interviews with both the Strause brothers. AVP-R hits theaters on Christmas Day.
Extra Tidbit:
The alien screech noise was made by combining a peacock and a baby elephant.

What I've seen of AVP:R looks great, but I haven't watched the 5 min yet. I'll wait till the feature. If they do indeed make another, they should set it on the Predator's homeworld like Robert Rodriquez wanted to do for "Predator 3".
On second thought they should instead just let Robert Rodriquez make Predator 3. |

Dask your wrong, this sequel is a direct sequel to the first AvP. The first five minutes begin with the end of the first AvP movie. |

You know what's ironic gaged, you spelled retarded wrong. just thought I'd point that out. And yeah, some people take these movies seriously, I'd love to hear how you can rag on THESE movies since only one has been released thus far, and as it was not terrible, it wasn't good. So I can see how you could rip on the first one, but saying you can rip on this second one without even seeing it... give me a break.
And it's not so much that people take them seriously... I doubt anyone is going to these movies to see an Oscar contender... the people that are going to see this movie are going to see it because they love Aliens and Predators and enjoy a good ol' fashioned action horror/gore fest.

I don't get it...u said there was nothing left up in the air in the first one...how about an alien bursting out of a Predators chest??? Thats more than enough reason to get a sequel.
I agree the first one wasnt good, but it wasnt bad either like most people say. It was a fun movie with some flaws (PG-13 rating being one of them). I think it deserves a sequel yes...just hope they dont screw this one up. |

Everyone hated the first one. The PG-13 rating should have been the first clue. But this movie isn't a direct sequel so much as another AVP movie. Think of it as a one-shot not in any way connected to ANY Alien or Predator movie, and give it the benefit of the doubt. Its a gory R, as little CGI as possible (so, real creature effects!) and Greg and Colin Strause have said the predator is essentially the protagonist. I'm not saying it will be good...I'm saying it could. And the fact that they want to do another in space is brilliant. |

EH...
I hated the first one, so I won't be seeing this one. Why a third one would be made is beyond me. Wasn't one enough? I mean when it comes to these V.S. films, how can you really make a sequel? There was nothing left up in the air in the first one at all, so I'm not seeing the point. |
